Learn Tools To Assist In Recovery Maintenance

Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) and SA Outpatient (OPT) means structured individual and group addiction activities and services that are provided at an outpatient program designed to assist adults and adolescents to begin recovery and learn skills for recovery maintenance. Substance use services are designed for homogenous groups of individuals e.g., individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders; individuals with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV); or individuals with similar cognitive levels of functioning.

To be eligible for services individuals must be 18 or older, have a substance use disorder, meet ASAM criteria for 2.1 and/or level 1, and have a desire for change.

Admission criteria will determine the capacity to serve and manage behaviors and risks associated with each ASAM dimension identified. The admission assessment includes the client’s mental health needs, physical needs, identified risks, physical needs, support environment, relapse risk, withdrawal risk, and any other pertinent information to properly assess the consumer. The program is provided over a period of several weeks or months and is catered to each individual’s unique needs.
